Adam Harrison’s paintings can be considered material time lapses of the locations he paints. He begins each painting meticulously trying to record every detail of the place being observed with detailed thoroughness, a type of “blueprint”, which he says on average can take up to 1-2 years. However, it is the unexpected moments and unpredictable inconsistencies of each and every day that he is present at his chosen worksites that compel him to take risks and achieve the expression he seek.
