Alex Blas explores modern day life by examining the private spaces of his friends. Blas carefully considers the shadows, colors, textures present in the spaces he represents in his paintings, as well as the light in which they exist. Blas’ subjects are often shown in captive, pensive isolation, highlighting the fact that these works are a privileged window into personal spaces.
