CHRISTINE FRERICHS

Christine Frerichs makes intimate observational paintings of interior scenes in her home and studio.  Each work is a result of repetitive sittings – observing and painting what remains and what changes over weeks, months or years.  The evidence of love relationships and relationship to self, are felt through the order and disorder of objects left behind.  Frerichs often works in series, and her medium is oil on wax coated paper, linen and canvas.  Carefully considered compositions, layered textural surfaces and delicate shifts in color and light - her paintings reward prolonged viewing.
