Dorman describes his works, “The Long View has multiple meanings for me. First and foremost, looking at the earth and humanity in geologic time is a way of coping with the darkness and cruelty of this moment. Secondly, several of the paintings in this show were created over a long expanse– twenty years, in the case of the titular piece. Finally, I shift perspectives constantly and invite you to explore these pictures with a literal long view, by stepping back and zooming in, tilting eyes upward, downward, and in all possible directions.”
