LINDSEY WARREN

Solo exhibitions by Ron Rizk and Lindsey Warren open Saturday, June 15, 4-7pm at Billis Williams Gallery.
An exceptionally well-matched pairing of solo exhibitions by two landscape painters who each approach the confluence of architecture, nature, and memory to document both their own lives and a cumulative portrait of the places their lives have unfolded. In As I See It, Rizk uses extreme, frequently aerial perspectives and dream-logic interventions to create a slight, seductive strangeness that is both extremely specific and elusively surreal. In Intangible Time, Warren uses a combination of plein air, photographic studies, and studio invention to create sweeping vistas filled with rich detail, speaking to her desire for fealty to realism and the transcendence of emotional impression.
