Mitra Fabian’s Commissioned Works for Google
Mitra Fabian was commissioned by Google in 2021 to create large scale site specific pieces for their offices.
All the pieces refer to specific computing concepts.
Cat State
Cat State is a term in quantum physics that “refers to a quantum state composed of a superposition of two other states of flagrantly contradictory aspects.”
Gradient Ascent
Gradient Ascent is an “algorithm to maximize function.” In images, one sees lines that are flat and then rise at quite a steep ascent. Mitra Fabian created a mirrored drawing of these linear patterns and drew them out with yellow diodes. Each panel is 8 feet long.
